Volumetric changes in a boulder beach

WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?

From photogametric models realized with drones in years 2014 and 2016 was calculating the volumetric changes in a boulder beach about 20,000 m2. For the study was used a Limit of Detection of 3.71 cm and a pixel size of 1.8 cm.

This work is a first approximation to analyses volumetric changes in a rocky coast globally, employing drone images. This research demonstrated that erosion only domain in 19% of study area, while accretion upper 1 500 m3 during the analysis period.

The beach behavior is in relation with a perturbation about an equilibrium beach gradient. This is related to storm severity during each Galicia winter period.
